Using the editor

Leaving the editor

What happens to unsaved changes when you leave the editor, switch pages, reload or close the tab.

Your edits live in the open editor only. They are not stored in your browser or on ComfiConf, and they are lost when you leave the page without applying them. ComfiConf asks before that happens.

Leaving with unsaved changes

When you have unsaved changes and follow a link elsewhere in ComfiConf, such as another server, another settings page or Settings, a dialog asks Leave without applying?

You have 3 unsaved changes. Leaving discards them; nothing has been sent to the server.

  • Stay and keep editing keeps you in the editor with your edits.
  • Discard and leave drops the edits and follows the link.

If you reload the page or close the tab, your browser asks its own question before it leaves.

When ComfiConf does not ask

There is no question when leaving is not your choice: after you sign out, when your session expires, or when the server you are editing is removed from your account.

Keeping your work

To keep your edits, review and apply them before you leave. To start over, choose Discard in the unsaved changes bar.
