Troubleshooting
Status messages, pairing problems, offline servers, and plugins that do not appear.
Start with /comficonf status in the server console. Its Connection line tells you
which section below applies.
| Connection | Meaning | See |
|---|---|---|
| Connected and paired | Everything is set up. | A plugin does not appear |
| Connected, not paired | The bridge reaches ComfiConf but belongs to no account yet. | Pair your server |
| Connecting | A connection attempt is running. | Wait a few seconds and run the command again. |
| Disconnected | The bridge cannot reach ComfiConf. Last error says why. | The bridge does not connect |
The bridge does not connect
The bridge keeps retrying on its own, waiting a little longer after each failed attempt, up to a minute. The Last error line shows the reason and when the next attempt starts.
- Check the network. The server needs an outbound connection to
app.comficonf.comover HTTPS (port 443). Some hosts block outgoing connections; ask yours to allow this one. - Reconnect now. After fixing the cause, run
/comficonf reconnectinstead of waiting for the next attempt. - Look at the log. The bridge logs a warning when the error changes, and at most every ten minutes while it
stays the same. Set
debug: trueinplugins/ComfiConf/config.ymland run/comficonf reconnectfor a line per message. Debug lines never contain values, keys or pairing codes.
If the log says another connection with the same identity was opened, two servers use a copy of the same
plugins/ComfiConf/identity.json, for example after you copied a server folder. Stop the copy, delete its
plugins/ComfiConf/identity.json, start it again and pair it as a server of
its own.
Pairing problems
| Message | Where | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| That code is not valid or has expired. Run /comficonf pair again for a new one. | Pairing page | Codes expire after 10 minutes and work once. Get a new one. |
| Codes never contain 0, 1, I, L or O. | Pairing page | No code contains these characters, so one was misread. Check what you typed, or copy the code instead. |
| Enter all 8 characters of the code. | Pairing page | The code has 8 characters, such as K7QX-M2PD. |
| Too many attempts. Wait a minute, then try again. | Pairing page | Wait, then enter the code again. |
| Too many pairing codes were requested. Wait a few minutes and try again. | Console | Wait, then run /comficonf pair again. |
| This server is already paired | Console | The server belongs to an account. Remove it on the website to pair it with another one. |
| The bridge is not connected to the ComfiConf backend | Console | The bridge must be connected before it can show a code. See above. |
The code is shown only to the person who ran the command. If someone else ran it, ask them for the code, or run it yourself.
The server is offline
Offline on Your servers means the bridge is not connected right now. Plugin settings cannot be opened until it reconnects.
- Check that the Minecraft server is running.
- Run
/comficonf statusin its console. If it shows Disconnected, follow The bridge does not connect. - If the console says Connected, not paired, the server was removed from your account, or its identity file was replaced. Pair it again.
The bridge reconnects on its own after a restart or an outage, and the website updates as soon as it does. An editor that is already open keeps your edits; reviewing and applying resume when the server reconnects.
A plugin does not appear
The server page lists only plugins that support ComfiConf and registered their settings with the bridge.
- Run
/comficonf plugins. If it says No plugin has registered a configuration resource., no plugin on the server has registered settings. - Check that the plugin supports ComfiConf. Its store page or documentation says so; see Supported plugins.
- Check the server log for a warning from the plugin about ComfiConf. A plugin built for a newer ComfiConf than your bridge cannot register; update the bridge.
- If the plugin was installed while the server ran, restart the server, then choose Refresh under Plugins on the server page.

Still stuck
Note the Server ID from the server page and the output of /comficonf status, then
ask for help where you downloaded the bridge.
