Supported plugins

What a plugin with ComfiConf support looks like, and the ComfiConfDemo plugin to try ComfiConf with.

ComfiConf edits plugins that integrate its developer API. Each such plugin decides which of its settings appear in the editor, how they are checked, and how a change is saved and activated. Plugins without ComfiConf support are never touched.

How to recognize one

  • On the server page. After you install a plugin with ComfiConf support and restart the server, it appears under Plugins on the server page, with its version and its settings pages.
  • In the console. /comficonf plugins lists every plugin that registered settings.
  • On its store page. Authors usually say that their plugin supports ComfiConf. On Modrinth, a plugin can list ComfiConf as an optional dependency.

A plugin with ComfiConf support is built to keep working without the bridge. You can install the bridge at any time, and remove it again, without changing the plugin's files.

What the editor shows for a plugin

Everything in the editor comes from the plugin's own description of its settings:

  • Settings pages. A plugin can share one page per configuration file, or split its settings over several pages. Each page is reviewed and applied on its own.
  • Sections and settings, with the plugin's labels, help texts, limits and choices.
  • Lists named after the plugin's own entries, such as vouchers, kits or arenas.
  • Restart notes on settings that take effect only after a restart.
  • Secrets that the plugin keeps on your server.

Only the settings a plugin declares are shown. Anything else in its files stays private and stays as it is.

ComfiConfDemo

ComfiConfDemo is a small voucher plugin made to show a complete ComfiConf integration. Install it on a test server to try every part of the editor before your own plugins support ComfiConf.

  • Download: ComfiConfDemo-0.1.0.jar from the GitHub release of the ComfiConf developer API. It is not listed in the plugin stores.
  • Settings page: Vouchers, with general settings such as the message prefix, announcements, a daily redemption limit, a bonus multiplier, the storage mode (which needs a restart), disabled worlds, a welcome message and a write-only webhook address, and a list of vouchers with a material, a cooldown, a permission, a weight and a rarity.
  • Commands: /vouchers lists the vouchers; /vouchers info <id>, /vouchers settings, /vouchers redeem <id> <player>, /vouchers status and /vouchers reload show and simulate the rest. /vouchers reload needs comficonf.demo.admin.
  • Its file: plugins/ComfiConfDemo/config.yml. Edit it by hand and run /vouchers reload, or edit it in ComfiConf. Changes from ComfiConf keep the file's comments and every key the editor does not show.

All screenshots in this documentation show ComfiConfDemo.

Asking for support in a plugin you use

If you would like a plugin you use to support ComfiConf, point its author to the developer documentation. Adding support takes a few classes, and the plugin keeps full control over its files.
