Rename and remove a server

Change a server's name on ComfiConf, and remove a server from your account.

Rename a server

The name you see on ComfiConf is the one suggested by the bridge when you paired, or the Display name (optional) you entered then. To change it:

  1. Open the server page

Choose the server on Your servers.
  2. Choose Rename

Rename sits at the top right, next to the status.

  3. Enter the new name

Type it into Server name (1 to 64 characters) and choose Save name. Cancel renaming or Esc keeps the old name.

The rename appears under Recent activity. It changes the name on ComfiConf only; the server-name in the bridge's config.yml is just the suggestion used when pairing.

Remove a server

Removing a server disconnects it from your account. Do it when you retire a server, or to pair it with another account.

  1. Open the server page

Scroll to Remove this server at the bottom. You can also start from Server access on the Settings page.

  2. Choose Remove server

A dialog asks Remove followed by the server's name, such as Remove Survival?

  3. Confirm

Choose Remove server in the dialog, or Cancel. ComfiConf confirms the removal and returns you to Your servers.

What removal revokes

Removal is immediate

ComfiConf revokes this server's bridge and disconnects it. Plugin settings on the server stay as they are. To manage it again, pair it with a new code.

  • Revoked: the bridge's access to your account. The server disappears from Your servers and from the navigation.
  • Not touched: everything on the server itself. Plugin files and their settings stay as they are, and the bridge plugin stays installed.
  • On the server, the bridge logs that the account removed the server, creates a new identity, and is ready to pair again: /comficonf status shows Connected, not paired.

To manage the server again, from this account or another one, run /comficonf pair and pair it with the new code.
